It is also no easy feat for a brand new musical to smash box office records around the globe, while making the top three productions that grossed over $1 billion, and later taking the place of the world’s second-highest selling musical, but Wicked’s done it. Undoubtedly: Wicked simply keeps defying gravity.
The truth is that Wicked has all the glitziness and frills one could possibly want and expect from a top production. The enchanting story, based upon L. Frank Baum's classic novel, ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’, follows the enchanting tale of two witches before Dorothy’s arrival in Oz. With a deep exploration of personalities at odds, conflicting viewpoints, and a shared love interest, and the With themes of complex friendships, conflicting viewpoints, love, and social issues, everybody and anybody is bound to get caught up in the enthralling storyline, breathtaking visual effects, well-developed characters, and, of course, composer Stephen Schwartz’s incredible score.
